The 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m²) pilot plant at BC Research Inc. is designed for the safe operation of advanced chemical processes under industrially relevant conditions. With 30 ft (9 m) high ceilings, steam and air, cooling water, and large AC and DC power capacities, the facility supports the study of demanding reactions, including high-temperature, high-pressure, and toxic or volatile chemistries.
The pilot plant space features a fully equipped fabrication shop, CNC machining, welding capabilities, and flue gas conditioning systems, allowing for rapid prototyping and deployment of modular skids. A fenced outdoor piloting area provides additional flexibility for larger or specialised systems.
When paired with our wet chemistry laboratory and analytical chemistry lab, the pilot plant space enables integrated research and process development, providing immediate technical insight to support safe and efficient scale-up. Engineered for extreme chemistries and demanding operating conditions, our pilot plant delivers a unique combination of space, infrastructure, and equipment, making it ideal for innovation, testing, and large-scale demonstrations.
