New Process Development
Our team has extensive experience with the early-stage development, scale-up and commercialization of numerous chemical processes. We also have specific relevant experience in bench, pilot and commercial scale plants including:
- The safe generation, handling and utilization of hydrogen in both chemical and electrochemical applications.
- Design of novel high-temperature thermochemical reactors for production of renewable fuels, improved upgrading and hydrogen production.
- Design and operation of several facilities, different new technology pilots as well as the design, installation and testing at a variety of other similar facilities including NRCAN-Canmet, Innotech Alberta, NRC-UBC, GCC, FPInnovations, etc.
- Multiphase reactor systems including L/L, L/G, S/L and S/L/G and highly exothermic reaction systems with runaway potential including nitrations.
- Distillation, scrubbing and stripping columns for the recovery and purification of a wide variety of gaseous and liquid streams.
- Gas-liquid contactors and separation devices including oxidation and carbonation systems, distillation, scrubbing and stripping columns for the recovery and purification of a wide variety of vapor and liquid streams from benzene, caustic, methanol, chlorine, etc.
- Water purification and wastewater treatments including both biological and non-biological treatments such as high temperature thermolysis, oxidation, etc.
- Dilute and concentrated acid and base handling, recovery and reconcentration.
- High-temperature, modular and/or containerized pilot systems, including: steam methane reformers, pyrolysis, carbonization, novel upgraders and more many of which involved gas conditioning, vent treatment and/or online analyses.
- Design and key equipment supply for industrial chemical plants and bio-refinery plants. Broad experience including Nanocellulose, lignin, cellulosic ethanol and more.
