About Us

BC Research Inc. (BCRI), is the R&D and innovation division of the NORAM group, a vertically integrated group of companies under common Canadian ownership that specialize in the development, scale-up and full-scale commercialization of chemical processes with focus on Cleantech. BCRI provides a wide range of services from technical consulting, assistance in technology development, development of custom pilot and demonstration plants, engineering and deployment of turn-key chemical plants, to full commercialization of Cleantech. Through BC Research, companies can also access the whole group of companies that together provide a vertically integrated technology development and commercialization ecosystem. Headquartered in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, BC Research operates primarily from their “Technology Innovation and Commercialization Centre” on Mitchell Island in the Vancouver suburb of Richmond, BC.

At BCRI, we provide state-of-the-art pilot plant and laboratory infrastructure to support our clients and partners in developing transformative technologies. Leveraging the global engineering and fabrication expertise of the NORAM Group of companies, we offer a seamless pathway from concept to commercialization—ensuring precision, innovation, and efficiency at every stage of development.

  • To develop comprehensive technical capabilities and infrastructure to tackle complex multidisciplinary projects in various industrially relevant sectors including: Cleantech, oil and gas, electrochemistry, thermochemistry, energy and hydrogen, CO2 capture and utilization, water, mineral processing, bioprocesses and others.

History

Previously, BC Research occupied a scientific research and development company located at the BC Research and Innovation Complex at the south end of the University of British Columbia campus close to the TRIUMF particle accelerator centre. This facility closed in November 2007.  

In 2010, BC Research Inc. (BCRI), opened again for business in Burnaby, B.C under the NORAM Group of Companies. In 2017, moved to a newly constructed Technology Innovation and Commercialization Center on Mitchell Island in Richmond, BC to expand their capabilities.
